Was driving from San Diego to Tucson and stopped here for lunch. The hostess said to sit anywhere, so we did only to realize later we sat in a "drivers only" area (There is a sign on the wall saying this is the driver section). Noticed this after another customer asked who I drove for. The waitress didn't mind though. Ordered a sandwich. Fiance ordered a sandwich also. Both cold meals, but it took 30 minutes to make in a crowd of 4 other customers. Check was instant when we asked for it. Slow to give us our food, fast for them to want us out. Good for a quick bite, as the food is decent. Almost like an IHOP.

This buffet is really good!!! I almost hesitated when I seen the reviews, glad I didn't listen to them.... The soups were great. The salad bar was fully stocked and bigger then any other Petro. They had fresh pork loin, fried chicken, all the fixins'.... The dessert had really good choices...fresh chocolate cake with cherries and chocolate sauce. Yummmm. Would recommend!!

Its a truck stop so very friendly and conversations are not hard to start here. Food was good. Staff was friendly.

Short, sweet, to the point: Dirty silverware. Service is fast, not overwhelmingly nice. Great breakfast buffet - biscuits and gravy, bacon, fresh fruit (kiwis, strawberries, cantaloupe), scrambled eggs, chorizo, omelet bar, pancakes - all very tasty for the price (and for all you can eat). Clean bathrooms. Received the wrong check - they fixed it. Big restrooms, not the cleanest. I would definitely go again but they could improve.

It's a truck stop with truck stop food - enough said.

They charge you for all add on items. Salsa, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos etc. .89 cents for each item. Unacceptable......especially when I spent $1000 on fuel.

= = = = = = DAILY LUNCH BUFFET! = = = = = = Friend Brian C. is a fan of this buffet, so I got together with Mike C. to whip down here & give it a try. It's a truck stop restaurant, with cozy, comfortable booths that have some miles on them, as do the wait

I"ve been eating at Iron Skillet restaurants around the country for decades now. I have eaten at this one several times. It's a truckstop and it is geared for truckers, yes, hence the reason I used to go several times a week (I am no longer OTR driver, just local, I don't get by this place too often) - but anyone is welcomed. The food is consistently good and I have always loved their huge salad buffet. There is always good conversation - at least among truckers I dunno about anyone else - and the waitresses are sometimes even entertaining. But, the food is what brings me back and I have no reservations recommending this place. It isn't anything fancy, but it IS good.

The food we were able to get was pretty good, as good as could be expected anyway, but the buffet was out of ham, bacon, pancakes, and strawberries, and it was only 9 o'clock in the morning!!

My wife and I eat here regularly, every time we are out from Chicago. Keep in mind, it is a truck stop, but that being said the food is damn good. We usually get the buffet, which changes all the time and has something for everyone. The meat/entree side always has at least 3 or good choices. The soups are great and the salad side is always fresh and well stocked. On our last trip we had BBQ beef ribs and menudo as some of the selections. I know, truck stop and menudo should be a huge red flag, but there was a line waiting for this stuff to be replenished, and as soon as it was, it was gone again. Seriously, that good. We also did breakfast and the eggs and chorizo with ranchero sauce was awesome. Worth the stop if you happen to be driving by!

I had heard so much about the buffet ... yeah, it was pretty good. But I didn't feel like anything was made from scratch - tasted like all pre-packaged instant food. The service was pretty good, but not great. I would stop again in a pinch.

Foods passable but usually cold. If your a regular staff seems to not care about you to much. Really I go there just because its close but could use MAJOR improvement. Really hit and miss.

Went here today with Rand H.to try out this truck stop buffet that was recommended by my brother the truck driver. Well when we got there it was alright inside comfy booth and soft playing music. The buffet was a fair size ; no super buffet but enough to make it good. I started with a bowl of pozole and it was awesome loaded with big chunks of tasty meat. I then had fried and baked chicken, green beans and bacon (yumm) , sausages in tomato sauce , mixed veggies, Mexican lasagna ,macaroni salad and this salad that was made with peas and cream . Then it was on to the sweets I had a piece of apple pie , a piece of yellow cake and a bowl of fresh melon all of which were good. The only thing i did not like was the drinking water tasted nasty. So what we got here is a not bad buffet way out in the sticks, Ok if your out there but not worth the drive.

We had the breakfast buffet. The only things that were good were the omelet bar and the salsa. The ham and biscuits were dry, the bacon was flavorless, the french toast was edible but not memorable. The potatoes were bland, you get the idea. I gave them the benefit of the doubt with two stars because we did not order off of the menu.

I have been to the Iron Skillet many times (Exit 200 off of I-10 in AZ), and have almost always found the buffet to be very enjoyable. The staff has been friendly and helpful. I usually order the Buffet. Only thing is I wish the buffet was a bit less in price (after dinner), and they could use a bit more variety, though what they have is adequate plus. All in all, I would definitely recommend this Restaurant. Family oriented too.

The restaurant has basic American food... Good for a lunch, don't touch the salads though, they don't look that clean. The burgers were generally fine, overall good enough for a bite to eat.
